Troubleshoot:Dual boot fails after installing KB2764462 and KB2777294

Dual boot fails after installing KB2764462 and KB2777294

I have a dual-boot system on my hard disk drive: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit, US English) with SP1 on C: partition and Windows 8 Pro on a separate partition.

The default OS to boot is Windows 8 Pro.

I downloaded and installed KB2764462 and KB2777294 on Windows 8 Pro (64 bit, US English) on November 28, 2012.

I discovered that Windows 7 Ultimate failed to boot.
There was an error message about the file system being corrupt and that I had to run CHKDISK to diagnose the issues.

However when CHKDISK was done, Windows 7 Ultimate failed to boot again.

My PC rebooted and I was presented with the Windows 8 boot menu.

I chose to boot into Windows 8 Pro.
There was a message telling me to rollback the recent updates by creating a system restore point.

I had no choice but to accept the default options presented to me.

Only then was I able to boot into either Windows 8 or Windows 7.

Could Microsoft look into the faulty KB2764462 and KB2777294 and issue fixes for them?
